Eesop Yoon is a patent lawyer in Seoul, South Korea who is affiliated with Global IP through the law firm in Korea that he founded, UNIS Patent Attorneys.  Mr. Yoon focuses on patent prosecution and litigation in the information-technology and construction-equipment fields. His clients range from individual inventors to one of the world’s 100 largest corporations. He assists Global IP on matters with a connection to South Korea.

Mr. Yoon’s legal expertise is bolstered by his experience as a computer programmer in the fields of database management and search engines.  He developed and launched Korea’s first online patent database search service, called “PIS,” and created the “Patent Digital Library” jointly with IBM. He also developed a unique trademark search engine that the Korean Intellectual Property Office adopted for use in trademark examination.

Mr. Yoon received a B.S. in naval architecture from Seoul National University, and an LL.M in intellectual property law from Yonsei College of Law. He also studied US intellectual property law at Franklin Pierce Law Center in Concord, NH.
